Experience

I began volunteering on poolside at the age of 14, qualifying as a swimming teacher in 2017. Since then I have worked for a variety of leisure centres and swim schools. During my time as a qualified teacher I have taught all age groups including pre-school and primary school aged children as well as adults and children with Special Education Needs and Disabilities (SEND). I also have experience coaching a variety of different age groups. My range of experience and exposure to differing teaching practices is what spurred me to establish my own swim school.

I am the main swimming teacher at Tom's Turtles which means I deliver most of the lessons on a weekly basis. Below you can find out some more information about the other members of staff who support me to deliver my lessons. From time to time there will also be other trusted colleagues who I will bring in to support me deliver my lessons who are not listed below.

Experience

I am an experienced dance and drama teacher. I have also spent a lot of my career working in the care sector with young adults, before working in a Special Educational Needs and Disabilities School (SEND) spending a lot of time working with children with autism and ADHD. 

I began my swimming career working as an assistant for Tom before gaining my Swim England Teacher qualification. I have since taught children of all ages throughout the learn to swim stages as well as adults.

Experience

I volunteered poolside for 3 years and gained my Aquatic helper qualification in 2018. I then qualified as a swimming teacher in 2019. Since gaining for level 2 swim teaching qualification I have worked for a variety of swim schools and leisure centres in Derby and Manchester. This has allowed me to gain experience of teaching children of all abilities and ages including pre-school children and adult swimming lessons.

Experience

I joined the Tom's Turtles team in 2022 and I have been assisting the lead teachers deliver their swimming lessons. I am continuing to learn the assessment criteria and outcomes for each stage and how to allow children develop their water confidence and swimming ability.
